Computer Armoires - The New Computer Desk
Filed Under Business
Have you ever heard of a computer armoire? If you have not I wouldn’t be surprised, but the next time you are out looking for a computer desk you might want to consider an armoire instead.
I know what you’re thinking. How can an armoire be a substitute for a computer desk? To answer that question let me explain exactly what a computer armoire is.
First, when it is totally closed up it will basically look like any other armoire. They do not intrude into their surroundings and can fit into virtually any home design. It is when you open the armoire up that you see how different it really is.
Computer armoires provide all the space you need to create a tidy little computer workstation. There is a place for the monitor, space for the keyboard and mouse. You will also find plenty of storage space for things like CD’s and DVD’s, paper and other documents, and all of your computer accessories. Frequently there are also a couple of storage shelves. These armoires also provide a compartment for the computer itself.
There are two distinct advantages to using a computer armoire as opposed to a desk for your workstation needs.
The first reason is that these armoires provide the most utility for the amount of space that they use. Because armoires utilize their height to create storage and workspace you do not sacrifice too much when you go this route instead of a traditional desk. In fact since the armoire takes up such a small space you might find that you are able to make better use of the room.
Secondly, computer armoires allow you to hide your workstation and everything else that goes along with it away. For a lot of families it is nice to have a computer station in the family or living room. A computer armoire will allow you to do this without sacrificing on the design of the room itself. Instead of looking at an unsightly computer and all the cables, components and other mess that comes with it, you are looking at a trendy armoire that fits right in with the rest of your furniture.
So if you have not heard of computer armoires that is completely understandable, but you should really check them out. They make phenomenal substitutes for desks. More importantly as computers continue to intrude themselves into all aspects of our lives, the idea of being able to shut the computer away without sacrificing any convenience is becoming even more appealing.
