Bromelain, a pineapple extract, is said to have some anti-inflammatory properties that would help those with asthma. Those who are allergic to pineapples should not use this natural treatment for asthma.

Then there is the Buteyko Breathing Technique, which is a shallow breathing exercise that was developed by Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko, a russian born researcher. Studies have shown that patients who have used this breathing technique saw a reduction in the symptoms of their asthma.

Another way to help decrease your asthma symptoms is to cut out the foods in your diet that contain arachidonic acid. These foods would include egg yolks, meat, and shellfish. By eating fewer of these foods, you may be able to notice decreased inflammation, which means fewer asthma symptoms.

As you can see, there are many different natural treatments for asthma. The key is to make sure that you are sticking with a treatment for a few weeks to a few months in order to make sure that you are giving the treatment a fair chance. As with any natural treatment, it is important to make sure that you are talking with your doctor before completely stopping any prescription medication.
